HTML Lesson 8: CSS for Color and Text Configurations

Key Points:

  • CSS stands for cascading color sheet.
  • You can use CSS to specify the overall appearance of your website.
  • You can do an external CSS sheet, like I have in the video, or do CSS within the HTML.
  • You break up the HTML elements into the CSS sheet and specify what properties they should hold. So for example if you want the body to be a certain color and have Arial, Verdana font family them you specify that like so:
    body{
    background-color: #DEB887;
    color: #F8F8FF;
    font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif;
    }
  • Same applies for other HTML properties like the h1, h2, p, etc.
